Jennifer’s Fund

Family members and friends of Jennifer Murphy established Jennifer’s Fund in 1997 to honor the memory and accomplishments of an amazing young woman whose creative life was tragically cut short at the tender age of 15.

Through the creation of Jennifer’s Fund, an endowment is available in perpetuity, and in Jennifer’s memory, to support grants for the intellectual, artistic, and physical development of teenage women in the State of Vermont.

Jennifer’s Fund is a component fund of the Vermont Community Foundation (VCF). VCF is a public charity created in 1986 to attract and manage charitable funds and distribute the income to Vermont’s nonprofit organizations to address community problems and enhance the quality of life in the State of Vermont. VCF manages the charitable capital of Jennifer’s Fund and consults with the Fund’s founders to select annual grant recipients.

The founders of Jennifer’s Fund, in collaboration with VCF, welcome qualified grant applications as well as expressions of interest in helping to contribute and grow Jennifer’s Fund’s modest endowment.
